Future Entrepreneurship is a two-day business workshop delivered by St Mirren FC Charitable Foundation that is held in the stadium. This workshop inspires school children in S3 and S4 to employ an entrepreneurial skillset through insight into business operations. Business thinking, problem-solving, and confidence is encouraged, in a creative and collaborative manner.
The group are split into two teams and tasked with organising a fundraising event. In the past, this has included planning a concert in the stadium for which every aspect was considered; booking the acts, the running order, safety and security, ticketing, financing, and securing volunteers. Each team then takes turns presenting their pitch to a panel of St Mirren staff and special guests, and a winner is chosen.
The previous success of this programme has been recognised by the growth of confidence displayed by the pupils in the final presentation as well as an exceptionally high standard of ideas and teamwork demonstrated throughout the process.
St Mirren FC Charitable Foundation currently works with local high schools in Renfrewshire that fund and engage with Future Entrepreneurship. This programme will be resuming in late 2022.
